Accuracy of Pc-12 External Treatment Planing

Abstract
Dose distribution in tumor, critical organ and normal tissue functions decisively to treatment of cancer patient. It is very important to predict the doses at interesting points because failure in treating cancer is dependent on dose distribution. Treatment planning system is required to meet successful treatment of cancer. Isodose calculations by PC-12 system are performed only within the magnifying square of which the size and position are adjustable. The effects of the change of th, position and size of the magnifying square on isodose curve, without any change in programming, are described. They are:
1. The change in the position and size of the magnifying square causes the change in the shape of isodose curves.
2. In `isodose¢¥ mode, percent depth dose at a reference point is independent of the position and size of the magnifying square.
3. In dose profile¢¥ mode, the change of the position or size of the magnifying square makes the TV scope display the changed value of percent
depth dose.
4. Percent depth doses in penumbra region are not predictable in any one of both modes. 5. Percent depth dose in the region except for penumbra region and dose build-up region is predictable in the isodose¢¥ mode.
